Group Sales FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a group?
A group is typically 10 or more people attending the same show. Some exceptions apply:
- Pittsburgh Ballet Theater groups start at 8 or more people.
- Pittsburgh Opera groups start at 6 or more people.
All tickets must be purchased in one order. Group tickets might not be available for every show.
Am I guaranteed the seats I requested?
Not necessarily. We do our best to accommodate requests, but seating is assigned based on availability. You’ll be contacted with seating details, usually Monday through Friday. If better seating or pricing is available, we’ll let you know. Once your order is placed, the seats in that order are guaranteed.
When can I purchase group tickets?
Anytime! Even before public ticket sales open, groups can request tickets through our group sales reservation form.
Need assistance? Call us at 1-844-PGH-SHOW or email Group_Sales@culturaldistrict.org.
Do we need to sit together?
No, but everyone in your group must attend the same performance. Seats may be side by side, but they could be in different price sections based on availability.
Can I hold seats without payment or add seats later?
Yes, time permitting! It’s easier to remove seats from your order than to add them later. No payment is required until your final order is placed. If you need to add seats later, we’ll do our best to accommodate, but availability and pricing may vary.
When and how do I pay?
Payment schedules are determined when you place your order and vary per show. Generally:
- The earlier you book, the more time you have to pay.
- Non-refundable deposits may be required for holding tickets longer than 30 days.
- Orders within 30 days of the performance may require immediate payment.
We accept AMEX, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa. Checks must be mailed directly to the presenting company and received at least 21 days before the show. Some companies also offer online payment links.
Please note:
- One person is responsible for paying the entire order.
- Individual payments from group members are not accepted.
- Purchase Orders are not accepted.
- All sales are final.
What is the child policy?
Every patron must have a ticket. Child policies vary by show, and it’s up to the group leader to communicate the policy to their group. General guidelines:
- All children must sit next to an adult.
- Unless otherwise stated, children under 3 are not admitted.
- Children under 12 are not admitted to Liberty Magic.
Refunds may not be given if policies are not followed. Some shows offer special pricing for students, scouts, and children.
What if someone in my group loses their ticket?
Tickets can be reprinted with exact seat details. The group leader must request the reprint, and a fee applies.
Are mobile tickets available for groups?
Yes! Most shows support mobile ticketing. Tickets are sent 48 hours before showtime, and the group leader can forward them to members via text.
What are the security policies?
It’s the group leader’s responsibility to inform members of the latest safety procedures before arrival. Refunds may not be given if policies are not followed. For more details, visit our Welcome Guide.
Is the theater ADA accessible?
