Enduring energy and excitement

Webern: Im Sommerwind
Brahms: Violin Concerto
Beethoven: Symphony No. 7

The Seventh Symphony. Its propulsive power and energy rank it as one of Beethoven’s greatest achievements, enduring for two centuries. Hear it under Music Director Manfred Honeck. Gramophone Magazine, reviewing the Honeck/Pittsburgh recording of Beethoven’s Seventh declared “Honeck is one of the few remaining masters of the rostrum whose CD’s are events to cherish.” Also, hear Brahms’ romantic Violin Concerto performed by Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider. The Chicago Tribune has declared: “when an artist such as Znaider comes along, it’s as if the heavens have opened.”
