The Rock 'n' Soul Gala Co-Chairs: Todd and Miriam Moules

Celebrate with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and take a nostalgic look back at some of the greatest concerts held at the Benedum Center, (formerly the Stanley Theatre), at the Rock ‘n’ Soul Gala. This year’s gala remembers the rich history of the Stanley Theatre which opened in 1928 and re-opened as the Benedum Center in 1987. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust will toast the theater’s heyday as home to the rock and roll movement of the 60s, 70s and early 80s when it was named as the number one performance venue in the United States. Some of the top performers during its prime included Little Richard, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jerry Garcia, KISS, Prince and Bob Marley. The festivities begin on the downbeat with cocktails under the tent. Dinner catches the upbeat on the stage of the Benedum Center and a private performance by VINTAGE TROUBLE. The back beat is added with a festive dance party to cap off the evening.

Dinner catches the upbeat on the Benedum Center stage with a private performance by private performance by Vintage Trouble. The Gala will conclude with a festive after-party catching “the backbeat” and capping off the evening.

This year’s theme honors and reminisces the rich history of music performances held at the venue during the popularity of Rock and Roll. Up and coming rock and soul artists including Little Richard, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jerry Garcia, KISS, Bob Marley and Prince have all played in the historic hall.

VINTAGE TROUBLE, a Los Angeles-based Rock and Roll, Soul and Blues band, co-mingles the distinct music styles of the 60s and 70s. The fusion of Rock ‘n’ Soul – heavy beats and gritty soulful melodies with impassioned vocals – gives the band its unique sound. VINTAGE TROUBLE formed in Los Angeles circa 2010 when the band began performing in after-hours clubs. Soon they were opening for Lenny Kravitz, the Cranberries and The Who. They have performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live! Join us at the Rock ‘n’ Soul Gala.
